Have You Ever tasted any mushroom..??
If Yes, Then My Friend This one is for you…!!!
“Matsutake“ the only or I should say the rarest and the costliest natural food from the family of Mushroom. It is derived from Chinese & Japanese word meaning Pine Mushroom. They are mostly found in Japan and are precisely grown in the region of Asia, Europe, and North America. It is mainly used for Japanese, Korean, and Chinese cuisine for its distinct spicy-aromatic odor.
It is so rare that its price has now reached almost $1000/Kg during peak time. Where as its minimum price was around $600/Kg depending upon quality, availability, and origin. Even due to pine-killing nematode Bursaphelenchus xylophilus, has influenced the price chart.
Near to extinction…??
Due to significantly decrease in the number of production over the last 50 years in Japan. Even reduced due to effects of insects and invasive trees finding their way into the shade areas in which it grow. This is the reason they are near to extinction & there is no way to save and cultivate it, so there’s a high chance they could disappear altogether in the future.
